Moral Disengagement in the Workplace: Resume Fraud with Mark Wexler, SFU Dept of Applied Ethics |
Tuesday November 8 2005 7:15- 8:30am
Location: BC Hydro 2nd Floor Auditorium
333 Dunsmuir St. Vancouver
Come join us for breakfast with one of our most popular speakers. Mark will be talking about how and why moral disengagement in the workplace is becoming an epidemic of major proportions.
Using his work on resume fraud, Mark Wexler explores the reasoning of those who cheat and fudge in their resumes and assume that they have done nothing wrong -- fraud and willful deceit are often framed as minor fudging and a necessary strategy of impression management.
Wexler will explore the process wherein organizational cultures develop with moral disengagement as a core values. These cultures often succeed in competitive contexts yet remain open to moral and ethical criticisms.
Please join us for what is sure to be a lively event!
Seating is limited. Please be sure to RSVP by Monday November 7 so that we can make accurate catering arrangements. Thank you.
