About Ian Haysom

Ian Haysom is News Director for BCTV News on Global, and has spent his working life as a journalist both in newspapers and television. He began his career in England, and worked in Fleet Street before coming to Canada in the mid-1970s.

Ian has worked for major Canadian newspapers as a reporter, film critic, columnist and in various editorial management positions. He was west coast correspondent for Southam News, editor-in-chief of both The Province and, subsequently, The Vancouver Sun.

He moved to television seven years ago, but continues to write columns for newspapers in Canada and Britain.
