A Google search of “Conflict of Interest” produced about 6,470,000 references in 0.04 seconds. (“Due Diligence” only garnered about 2,940,000 references in 0.28 seconds.)

Dr. Crowell will draw on his knowledge of business ethics in leading a discussion on key ethical criteria which can applied as a litmus test for conflict of interest.

About Philip Crowell
The Rev. Dr. Philip Crowell holds a Bachelor of Arts (honours), Master of Divinity (honours) from Acadia University, a Master of Arts (Philosophy) from the University of New Brunswick and a Doctor of Philosophy (Philosophy) from the University of Waterloo.

Dr. Crowell has been lecturing in ethics, philosophy, and religious studies since 1986, at Mount Allison University, St. Thomas University, Acadia University and the University of New Brunswick. As well as sitting on Mount Allison University Ethics Research Committee, Dr. Crowell, has for many years served as ethicist for Hospital Ethics Committees which involved developing educational processes within the health care context, integrating workshops, seminars and presentations. His specialization is in biomedical ethics, business ethics, just war theory and peacemaking ethics.

Dr. Crowell is a member of the Canadian Bioethics Society and is engaged in discussions on the impact of new technologies, especially, questions involving transplantation, and end-of-life issues. He is also a member of the Society of Christian Ethics involved in working groups on justice and reconciliation.
