CONSCIOUS CAPITALISM: THE ROLE OF SPIRIT
& SELF-INTEREST IN OUR MARKET ECONOMY

"The free market system is guided by the invisible hand.”
-- Adam Smith, 18th century economist and philosopher
Smith uses this analogy to describe how self-interest dictates the most efficient use of resources in a nation’s economy, with public welfare emerging as a by-product.
Supporters of free trade agreements tout the benefits of a common market: increased competition, lower prices, and a general environment of increased efficiency. This also supports Adam Smith’s division of labor theory, as the free market system encourages market efficiency through specialization…
But this doesn’t seem to be working as is evidenced by climate change, unfair labor practices, energy crisis, growing disparity between rich and poor, etc.
What if we could align our tendency to act out of self-interest with making improvements to our social fabric and natural environment?
Please join us for lunch as Connie shows how we can align the power of self-interest with spirit, within our economic system, to produce effective and innovative solutions through free enterprise.
