Dr. Eli Sopow

Head, Human Research & Organizational Development, RCMP, Pacific Region HQ

Author,
Corporate Personality Disorder: Surviving & Saving Sick Organizations

It’s the Organization that’s Sick

Organizations grow much like people do, placing different importance on vital human emotion and knowledge needs.

The trouble, says Dr. Eli Sopow, is that the "family tree" of organizations is rooted in the Industrial Age – of mechanistic logic, linear thinking, and actions designed to protect the status quo – while people have a family tree that is humanistic, organic, and evolving.

The result is a major clash between the human and organizational personality, leading to workplace stress, shareholder rebellions, consumer boycotts, and public protests.

Dr. Sopow will share a way to easily diagnose corporate personality disorder, and a prescription to create happier, healthier, and more personally rewarding (and "productive") workplaces and personal lives.

He’ll also present original research findings that show if leaders and managers take even one small step – like listening more effectively – they can significantly boost employee morale, job satisfaction and a sense of workplace well being.
