Can "giving" sometimes be a positive -OR- a negative?

Philanthropy is an act of sharing one's resources and time for the benefit of others. However, it can also be used to influence and even manipulate. There are ethics involved in giving just as there are in receiving.

This session will discuss various degrees of philanthropy – from the personal to the universal – as well as different attitudes towards charity, philanthropy, volunteerism and sharing.
